A structured curriculum in art foundations, Indian art traditions, and world art. Students learn to think like artists, build real vocabulary and technique, and create original work with confidence.
My classes are built on a structured curriculum that teaches the real foundations of art — elements, principles, tools, and techniques — so students can create their own original work with confidence. Every lesson builds clarity and skill, guiding learners to think, plan, and express ideas the way artists do.
Kids build creative confidence slowly, one skill at a time. Adults refine technique and develop their own voice. Everyone explores world art alongside the fundamentals — broadening how they see, think, and create.
Foundations — elements and principles of art, vocabulary, tools, and techniques
Original creation — applying learned skills to personal, meaningful projects
World art alongside the fundamentals — building a wider creative vocabulary
Art as thinking — observation, decision-making, and creative problem-solving
One-on-one or small groups · No art experience needed for beginner sessions

Basic — no art experience necessary, learn the fundamentals of each tradition
Intermediate — builds on Basic, deepens technique and detail
Advanced — builds on Basic and Intermediate, for serious practice
Teens welcome alongside a parent · Adults welcome on their own

You don't need to know what you want to paint — that's exactly where we start. Before your session, we have a short conversation — about what you love, what your child loves, and what story you want to hold on to.
The art — whether folk art, abstract, or something entirely your own — comes from that conversation. Every session is guided, personal, and designed for one thing: the most memorable experience you can have with your child.

I'm a storyteller first. Painting, teaching, the words I choose for a lesson — all of it is in service of one thing: a good story, told well enough to be understood and kept. That instinct doesn't stop at visual art. Apart from my art path, I love stories and songs just as much — making Tamil and Sanskrit songs feel simple for kids growing up in the U.S., helping them speak Tamil more comfortably, and sing and dance to that same tradition.
I love designing curriculum this way — creating simple lessons that work for beginners and advanced learners alike, a space wide enough for everyone to grow, kids to adults, with art experience or none. I work with century-old Indian folk art traditions and fine art foundations both, and before any art form reaches your child in class, I've already gone deep into it myself, years of learning from real teachers, so it arrives clear, honest, and easy to hold onto. Being an art docent lets me be around children and watch their curiosity and understanding unfold — that feeling never gets old.
Every lesson I plan is about more than just the art — it's about the creative process, and helping each art form take real root in the person learning it. That's why I make room for kids to write and reflect on what they made, not only make it. Children who put words to their art build a richer emotional vocabulary and a deeper connection to what they created — the story becomes theirs to keep and tell.
What your child grows through my class
Real foundations — elements, principles, technique — built to last
Sharper focus, memory, and creative thinking that carries into every subject
A story they can tell about what they made and why it matters to them
Growing empathy and connection — to the art, its culture, and each other
Confidence that comes from understanding deeply, not memorizing
A well-told story can carry wisdom, joy, and connection further than technique alone — that's what I bring to every class.
